Through the generations - how it all began . . .
William Roland Carter started his family haulage company in the 1930s and the tradition continues with son and grandson now at the helm.
From small beginnings this family company has developed and diversified its operations through three generations of consistent business and service in haulage and distribution. For 40 years the company specialized in the transport of livestock and then in the late 1970's started work with freight forwarder Autotransit. Since then the Company has increasingly diversified into a mixture of dry freight and general haulage.
Today W.R Carter (Transport) Limited covers all areas of the country. We specialise in the movement of pallets for a number of leading pallet companies being able to carry larger quantities than normal due to our specially designed trailers (designed inhouse and made in Ireland) We also move various timber products for companies who specialise in the building and gardening industries.
We operate night trunking from depot to main hubs and return.
